P1 Australia founder Glenn Revell discovered after a lifetime of competing in Speedway it became obvious that traditionally Australian racers’ had a difficult time obtaining quality racing components for a reasonable price. Most racers stocked up on parts whilst holidaying in the USA in our off season. After many years of doing exactly this we discovered that the Americans did not manufacture all the parts that racers required in USA! They outsourced to overseas companies just like what happens with most day to day products in Australia! So the search to find the quality products we required began. What a journey we started!
When we launched P1 Australia in late 2008 we had immediate success with our speedcar/midget header program winning the Australian Speedcar Championship. Since then we have sold products throughout Australia and exported to NZ and USA. Every product that P1 developed was race tested in house. Utilizing leading racers around the country the newly developed P1 products stood up to the tortures of dirt track racing.
It has taken many years to refine the products that are available in the P1 range and we are constantly liaising with our customers’ to enhance our products and product range. We are committed to assisting our dealers and racers in developing cutting edge products to suit the racers needs. P1 has also developed world first products in the speedcar/midget division. We are racers and understand the needs of the racer, whether you are a professional full time team or a Saturday night weekly racer we are always happy to help.
From humble beginnings of a few product lines we now can supply the complete car!
The name REVELL has been synonymous with Australian Speedway for over 6 decades. In this time there have been three generations who have graced victory lane.
The late RAY REVELL started the tradition in 1936 with three World Championships and five Australian Championship, a feat that has not been matched. With numerous State Titles and feature race wins to his credit, Ray retired from racing winning his last feature race before 36,000 race fans at the Sydney Showground in December 1962. Ray was an inaugural inductee into the Australian Speedway Hall of Fame.
In 1964 HOWARD REVELL continued the legend by winning the N.S.W. B Grade Championship and gaining “Rookie of the Year” in his first season. After winning major races in Australia and New Zealand, Howard embarked on a three month tour of the U.S.A in 1978 on the torturous USAC (United States Auto Club) National Championship trail. He finished 29th in the 8 month trail. Howard retired from racing in January 1994 after winning the A.C.T. Title and 12th in the Australian Championship after 30 years of competition. Howard is regarded as one of Australia’s finest competitors.
Third generation racer GLENN REVELL continued the winning family legacy in 1994 by claiming the N.S.W. Speedcar Championship. He competed in Australia and USA before retiring in 2012 due to back injuries sustained over a 28 year motor racing career.
